Nigeria Sends 14 Teams to Represent the Nation at the World Robot Olympiad in Singapore - Its Largest Delegation Yet!

In a remarkable stride for STEM education and youth innovation, Nigeria is set to make history as 14 outstanding teams prepare to represent the nation at the 2025 World Robot Olympiad (WRO) in Singapore.

Organized by the Arc-Lights Foundation, the official national organizer of the WRO in Nigeria, this year’s contingent, a record-breaking 68 delegates, marks Nigeria’s largest-ever representation at the prestigious global robotics championship.

The World Robot Olympiad brings together the brightest young minds from across the globe to tackle real-world challenges through creativity, coding, and engineering. Nigeria’s teams, made up of passionate students and their dedicated coaches, will join peers from over 90 countries to showcase innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving on an international stage.

This year’s delegation is a proud reflection of collaboration and national diversity. It includes representatives from both public and private schools in Lagos and Port Harcourt, alongside 38 brilliant students, and a distinguished delegation comprising the Honourable Commissioner (HC), Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MBSE), the Permanent Secretary, MBSE, and senior officials from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MBSC).

During their stay in Singapore, the entire 68-member Nigerian delegation will pay a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Embassy, where they will be formally welcomed by Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Singapore, a symbolic moment of national pride and encouragement for the young innovators representing the country.

The participating teams emerged from rigorous regional and national robotics tournaments organized by Arc-Lights Foundation throughout the year. Their journey to Singapore reflects the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to advancing STEM education, creativity, and global exposure for Nigerian students.

This year’s participation also represents a growing movement, one where Nigerian children are not just learning about technology, but using it to imagine and build solutions for tomorrow.

Arc-Lights Foundation invites Nigerians everywhere to celebrate this historic achievement and rally support for the young innovators representing the country on the world stage.

We’re going to Singapore. Are you ready? Follow the journey at www.arclightsfoundation.com and on all social media platforms @arclightsfoundation.
